our favorites are some of the really old ones - the old guy in the motorcycle shop trying to sell a biker a little bicycle “are you sure it’s fast?” “look at the flames!”
oh, and if our young women are getting their idea of beauty from a 15sec comcast commercial, god help us all

@Jennifer - I can see your point. I like it because of the punniness of it, not necessarily the message. Although if they’re going to base a commercial on a play-on-words for the phrase “save a pretty penny”, there’s really no way to avoid the implied message of “pretty people deserve better”.

I just try to take things like that tongue-in-cheek. But you do have a valid point.

I’m actually offended by the “pretty Penny” commercial. It plays into our society’s ideals of beauty, and that someone is trapped in a burning building because she’s not as attractive. That is a terrible message to send our young girls growing up today.

@aline - That's an excellent question. I always got the impression it was a jingle specific to those comcast commercials, so I'm not sure there actually is a downloadable version available. If we find one, though, we'll be sure to post it!

The favorite in the Olander household is the ‘Tough to Beat’ commercial. That said, there is a special place in my heart for both the superhero commercials: ‘Talk about Savings’(sadly no link could be found) and ‘Spiderman’.

I think my favorite one is “Save a Pretty Penny”. I couldn’t find that one anywhere, either.

But more importantly, why is that Indian guy getting so aroused by the guy trying to put money in the bus driver’s nose? That ain’t right…
