Give me back that Filet O’ Fish…again!

posted by jamie | 02.19.10 | permalink | 7 comments |

We here at songspeak were thrilled to discover that our favorite commercial of 2009 has spawned a sequel in 2010. The singing fish is back to promote McDonald’s Filet O’ Fish sandwich. I can’t believe it’s been a year since the original classic debuted. As with most things, the sequel isn’t quite as good as the original, but I’m thrilled to see that they updated the song to go with the new cell phone story they’re telling this year. “If it were you in that sandwich, you wouldn’t be getting this calllllllll!”

CheesyMeat posted ringtones of the Give Me Back That Filet O Fish song that you can download to your phone.

    I’m starting to suspect that the Filet O’ Fish promotion will happen every year at Lent.

    @Andrew – I think you’re probably right. One thing about the new 2010 version is that whenever it comes on I think my cell phone is buzzing and start looking for it.

    @Andrew –

    The Filet O’ Fish has been happening every year at Lent as long as I can remember (Mid to late 80’s).

    Everytime I get in my routine of putting labels on my coffee; I think the phone is ringing, and I stop, and again and again, it’s the television. . . .not a bad idea, to catch our attention; and of course, I LOVE THAT SONG. . .I regularly get back into my routine and think, wow, brilliant idea, MacDonald’s.
