The other day I got home from work to find my daughter Quinn dancing around in the living room singing, “I like to move it, move it! I like to move it, move it!” I was taken aback, and discovered that her friend was singing it at school. I never really expected to hear her singing I Like to Move It by Reel 2 Real, but I’m sure the version her friend had heard was will.i.am’s version from Madagascar 2. She must have really had that song stuck in her head, because she was singing it all night. My favorite part, by far, was when we were playing cards and she was watching her last cartoon before bed (that night’s pick was Batman), and she told me she had to go to the bathroom. So she ran in, and I asked her if she wanted me to pause her show. She replied in the affirmative, and then I heard her singing while on the toilet, “I like to pause it, pause it! I like to pause it, pause it! I like to…PAUSE IT!” I was almost literally ROTFLOLing. I love it when 4 year-olds songspeak. For those of you who have forgotten the original classic:
