For awhile now, FreeCreditReport.com has been running some clever commercials featuring Eric Violette singing clever songs about how he should have gone to FreeCreditReport.com instead of that tool on the stool saying, “I’m THINKING of a number…”. These commercials feature clever songs sung in English, even though Eric Violette is French-Canadian whose primary language is French.
The Car Song: I was shopping for a new car, which one’s me… A cool convertible or an SUV?
The Pirate Song: They say a man should always dress for the job he wants, so why am I dressed up like a pirate in this restaurant?
The Dream Girl Song: I married my dream girl. I married my dream girl. But she didn’t tell me her credit was bad.

I like the cheesy original FreeCreditReport.com song… That song MADE freecreditreport.com what it is today. Don’t hate.
Freeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee credit report DOT com. Yeah, it’s got a certain elevator/light rock vibe to it. But the way he says “I’m thinking of a number” that just makes me cringe.
For awhile I tried to deny my love for the car lot one. I’m embracing it now. The best bit is the expression on his face at the end of it. I do wonder if it really is that dude singing, though.

I seems to me that the FreeCreditReport car song sounds a little bit like “Behind the Music” by the Vandals (you can check on iTunes). The rhythm is the same, at least.
O.M.G.!! I thought I was crazy because I love these commercials and so do my kids. Guess I’m not the only one. I hope they make another one. Can’t wait. I think the blond guy is pretty cute!!!
I like their commercials, but their credit reports sure aren’t “free”. You have to sign up/enroll in Triple Advantage, which kinda blows.
