  Russell Brand hosts 2008 MTV Video Music Awards

  Probably the best parts of Forgetting Sarah Marshall came from British comedian and actor, Russell Brand. In the movie, Brand played Sarah Marshall’s (Kristen Bell‘s) new boyfriend Aldous Snow, lead singer of the (fictional) band Infant Sorrow.

  Russell Brand will be hosting MTV’s 2008 Video Music Awards, Sunday, September 7th, and I think he’ll be an amusing host, even if the VMAs tend to be real turdmuffins most of the time.

  Great, isn’t it? Russell Brand really cracks me up. And of course, they showed snippets of this in Forgetting Sarah Marshall, so I couldn’t resist posting Infant Sorrow’s entire brilliant video for their song, We’ve Got To Do Something

  Now if only I could find video of A Taste For Love…

  Tropic Thunder viral video from the 2008 MTV Movie Awards

  Ben Stiller, Jack Black, and Robert Downey Jr. made a “viral video” for the 2008 MTV Movie Awards to promote their upcoming movie, Tropic Thunder. I didn’t see the awards this year (which were somewhat close to a massive fire at universal studios), but I’m generally of the opinion that the best part of these types shows are these short sequences anyhow, so I don’t feel like I missed much since they’re on the internets.

  As Scott Brodeur says on his BlogBeat post about this video, There is no more surefire punchline than the crotchkick. Tropic Thunder isn’t opening until August sometime, but I’m kind of psyched to see it.
