Sorry Claymates, Clay Aiken is gay

    posted by songspeak | 09.24.08 | permalink | comment?

In the latest issue of People magazine, American Idol star and new dad, Clay Aiken admits that he’s gay. We’ll skip the part where we make all sorts of “there’s a shocker” type jokes… instead we’ll just extend our condolences to all the hopeful Claymates whose dreams of heterosexual intercourse with Aiken will now be shattered forever.

    From the AP:

NEW YORK — Clay Aiken is finally confirming what many people already knew: He’s gay.

The cover of the latest People magazine shows Aiken holding his infant son, Parker Foster Aiken, with the headline: “Yes, I’m Gay.” The cover also has the quote: “I cannot raise a child to lie or hide things.”

The magazine has an interview with Aiken and confirmed that he was on the cover but refused to release the article to The Associated Press until Wednesday.

The baby’s mother is Aiken’s friend and record producer Jaymes Foster.

Aiken, who gained fame as the runner-up on “American Idol” in 2003, rarely addressed the frequent rumors about his sexuality. In an interview with The Associated Press two years ago, he said: “I don’t really feel like I have anybody to answer to but myself and God and the people I love.”

He’s undoubtedly been asked numerous times about his sexuality. Here a 2006 MTV interview Jim Cantiello did with Clay. He was very awkward and stuttery while he was trying to get Clay to come out of the closet. It’s sort of a tense and uncomfortable:

Oh, and one more thing… this has always bugged us:

It should be… If I WERE invisible, then I could just watch you in your room.

    Zuma Nesta Rock Rossdale?

    posted by matt | 08.25.08 | permalink | comment?

5911249 In a world where the names of well-known famous-types keep getting weirder and weirder, Zuma Nesta Rock is one of the weirder ones.

Born this past Thursday, August 21st, 2008 to Gwen Stefani (of No Doubt fame) and Gavin Rossdale (of Bush fame), he weighed 8 pounds and 5 ounces.

Sure, Zuma Nesta Rock is no Pilot Inspektor, Moon Unit, or Dweezil, but it’s still kinda bizarre. Some thought went into picking the name at least.

I wonder whose mouth, mouth, mouth, mouth he has.

    posted by matt | 07.31.08 | permalink | 11 comments

Ladies Love Cool James… and Dennis, Frank, Sweet Dee, Mac, and of course Charlie. I’m pretty excited for Season 4 of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia. It starts September 18th, 2008 on FX. Some of us here at Songspeak haven’t watched the show much, but others of us are fanatics.

Here’s a promo video they’ve been showing excerpts of on FX. It’s a spoof on LL Cool J’s Going Back to Cali.

Here’s the original video of LL Cool J’s Goin Back to Cali for your comparison viewing pleasure…

Have you noticed lately that LL Cool J sounds and acts like 50Cent on his new song, Baby? What the hell is THAT about?

Oh, and get these digital video discs. They’re wicked good.
