The Simpsons spoof Mad Men in Treehouse of Horror episode
The annual Treehouse of Horror episodes on The Simpsons are adored by many. This year, their 19th, the opening sequence saluted popular Jon Hamm-tastic AMC show Mad Men.

With peace and love, Ringo Starr says no more fan mail
You had better get your fan mail into Ringo Starr before October 20th, because after that, The Beatles‘ drummer has said he will no longer open or answer fan mail or sign any more memorabilia.
“Please do not send fan mail to any address you have. Nothing will be signed after the 20th of October. If that is the date on the envelope, it’s gonna be tossed. I’m warning you with peace and love I have too much to do.”
Before you go thinking that Ringo is a total jag or anything, he’s been known to be especially gracious to his fans over the years, so you can imagine how he might be tired of getting fan mail and feels that he’s paid his dues.
Peace and love, people. Peace and love.
This story reminds me of the episode of The Simpsons where Marge paints many portraits of Ringo. After Ringo receives them years and years later, he’s shown answering fan mail, saying “”They took the time to write to me, and I don’t care if it takes 20 years, I’m going to answer every one of them!”
My dad once said he couldn’t watch The Simpsons because they were “too yellow”.

Josh Groban sings TV theme song medley at Emmy Awards
I never thought I’d be typing this, but Josh Groban gave a stellar performance at the 2008 Emmys / The Academy Awards, doing an amusing medley of television theme songs. There was quite a variety, and I think I was most impressed with seeing Groban do the South Park theme (1:45 in or so).
